Commercial Fishing Museum   
Displays highlights of early Lansing's development as a Mississippi River town including steam-boating, commercial fishing, the pearl button industry, and ice harvesting. Located on Front Street in Lansing.

The Old Stone School Building   
Built in 1864 this school remained in use for 108 years making it the oldest school in continuous use west of the Mississippi.

Blackhawk Bridge  
Since its completion in 1931, the Blackhawk Bridge has been a major historical attraction of Northeast Iowa, encompassing the beauty of the Mississippi River and the bluffs of Lansing.

The Mississippi River  
Powerful and beautiful, the Mississippi River is the third largest river in the world. It has played and will continue to play an essential role in our nation's past, present, and future.

Mt. Hosmer  
In 1851, Harriet Hosmer, a noted sculptress won a footrace to the top of this hill. Today visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of three states (Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota) and the beautiful Mississippi River simply by driving to the top of Mt. Hosmer, named in Ms. Hosmer's honor.

Allamakee County Historical Society Museum  
The Museum is housed in the original Allamakee Courthouse built in 1861. Within the Museum, one will discover rooms furnished to reflect the 19th century, displays of farm tools, military items, medical room, and the court room-complete with the judge’s bench, chair and gavel.

Historic Buildings
Most of the buildings lining Main Street can be traced back to the 1800's. Many are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Blackhawk Memorial Park
7 miles north of Lansing at the Battle of Bad Axe site (Mississippi River boat landing, fishing, camping).

Fish Farm Mounds
Just 6 short miles north of Lansing you'll come across Fish Farm Mounds a state preserve where you can see the work of prehistoric Native American Mound Builders.

Effigy Mounds National Monument
Where visitors can view animal shaped and geometric mounds created by an ancient Indian culture.

Yellow River State Forest
A 6600 acre forest, 15 miles south of Lansing (camping, scenic drives and overlooks, trout fishing, canoeing, hiking, hunting, camping, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, horseback trails).

Pikes Peak and Wyalusing State Parks
Located near McGregor, Iowa and Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin (hiking, canoeing, camping, scenic views, skiing).
