Our Tara Inn is a unique Bed & Breakfast housed in a Century
Old Barn between the communities of Lansing and Waukon along
Highway 9. The barn built in 1896, has been lovely
renovated into a comfortable Bed & Breakfast with five
separate guest rooms available. Our Rooms all have Private
Entrances, Private Baths, Mini-fridges & Microwaves, In-room
Coffee, TV, Wireless Internet, Hair Dryers and AC.

The Royal Suite
Queen Bed in private bedroom, large living room with two
queen sofa sleepers. Full Kitchen with necessary
cooking & dining utensils. Full bath with laundry, private
entrance to deck & gazebo. Perfect for a family or similar
group, overnight or a week. Maximum occupancy 8.

Iron and Lanterns will remind you of our legendary Runaway

The Fur-Traders Loft Two Double beds,
Comfortable and Cozy, decorated with red and gold tones that
compliment the exposed barn beams. Maximum Occupancy 4,
better suited for 2.

The Lodge Three queen beds in a two room
suite. Tastefully decorated with the woodsman in mind.

The Shangri La King Bed and Jet tub to
Refresh and Relax you. It is the perfect choice for a
romantic retreat or just to pamper yourself. Maximum
Occupancy 2.

All Rooms are Non-Smoking, Children are Welcome,
Inquire about Pets.
All Rooms are available separately and have private
entrances. For Larger groups the Royal Suite, Fur-Traders
Loft and Runaway Lovers Loft with an adjoining entrance will
accommodate 10-12 people comfortably. The Lodge and Shangri
La with shared outside entrance will accommodate 6-8 people
and have a shared social area to relax in.
BREAKFAST IS SERVED
A Full Hot Country Breakfast is served Buffet Style
in the Great Room Daily between 7 am and 9 am .

ABOUT THE BARN The barn built in 1896
originally was a working Dairy Barn. It also has housed
assorted livestock from Hogs to Chickens. The Barns
Reconstruction was done to maximize modern comforts but
maintain the character of the barns original Post and Beam
Construction. The Foundation of the barn is native
limestone quarried by hand on-site.
ABOUT THE INN
Relax sitting on the deck and Gazebo, watching the 'corn
grow', the view of the Sunset is Magnificent. Take a walk
in the woods to unwind. Join other guests relaxing in the
Great Room. A large outside play area is available for
Badminton, Croquet, Horseshoes, or sitting by the Fire.
Sportsman enjoy fishing the nearby Trout Streams or the
Mississippi River, or hunting the nearby State
Lands.
