Next, grab your boots or your bike and your backpack and head to one of our many trails. You can start at Mt. Hosmer or travel to the Yellow River State Forest, where you’ll enjoy the rugged and untamed terrain, diverse wildlife, and the beautiful trees and surroundings.

Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling Iowa

Near Lansing, you’ll find 19 parks where you can hike, bike and camp when it’s warm or cross-country ski when snow blankets the ground.

If snowmobiling brings you joy, you’ll flip for the more than 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails maintained by the Allamakee Sno-Blazers Club. Enjoy their many trails or check out the various activities and snowmobiling opportunities listed on the Iowa Department of Natural Resources site.
